Travel Restrictions Scheduled on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Extension) and I-76 for
Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Extension)
and
Interstate 76 in Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• From 10:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, through 1:00 AM Thursday, March 23,
the
right lane is scheduled to close on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Extension)

between the Wissahickon Avenue and I-76 interchanges;
• Thursday, March 23 from 1:00 AM to 4:00 AM, the two right lanes are
scheduled
to close on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Extension) between I-76 and
Wissahickon Avenue; and
• Thursday, March 23, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled
to
close on westbound I-76 between South Street and Interstate 676.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas.
The schedule is dependent on the weather.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.

accessible
on the 511PA website.
