Wind Advisory

This is a message from ReadyPhiladelphia.

Wind Advisory in effect until 6pm. Gusts up to 45-50 mph are possible.  Exercise caution.

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening... 

* locations... the Interstate 95 corridor, New Jersey coastal
plains, and central and northern Delmarva.

* Winds... west 15 to 25 mph with peak gusts 45 to 50 mph.

* Timing... winds will begin to increase late this morning. The
strongest winds are expected this afternoon. Winds should begin
to diminish around and just after sunset early this evening.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected. There is a higher
risk of tree and power line damage today due to ice and/or snow
in many locations as well as a saturated ground.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that very windy conditions are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Light-weight outdoor
objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be
secured.
