Right Lane Closures Scheduled on I-76 Next Week for ITS Maintenance in
Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

Right lane closures are scheduled on Interstate 76 next week for
maintenance
work on Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment in Philadelphia
and
Montgomery counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT)
announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Tuesday, November 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, right lane closures are
scheduled on westbound I-76 at the Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) Interchange
in
Philadelphia; and
• Thursday, November 9, and Friday, November 10, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM,
right
lane closures are scheduled on eastbound I-76 at the Belmont Avenue
Interchange
in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather
dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is performing maintenance and
repair
operations on ITS equipment along state highways throughout Bucks, Chester,

Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, including 392 closed
circuit
cameras, 158 variable message signs, and other related work.

Kuharchik Construction Inc., of Exeter, Pa., is the general contractor on
the
$3,696,994 project which is financed with 100 percent state funds. The
project
is expected to be completed in spring 2020.
