I-95 Daytime Lane, Ramp Restrictions Next Week for Surveying in Center City Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – Interstate 95 motorists will encounter periodic lane closures in both directions between the Interstate 76/Walt Whitman Bridge and Interstate 676/Ben Franklin Bridge interchanges in Philadelphia on Monday, July 9, through Thursday, July 12, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for survey operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
During the work hours, periodic lane closures will also be in place on the following ramps in the Penn's Landing area:
- Market Street/Front Street ramp to southbound I-95;
- I-95 southbound ramp to Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue; and
- Columbus Boulevard ramp to northbound I-95.
Motorists are advised to remain alert for slow traffic and backups when traveling through the work areas. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.
The survey operations are part of the early stage engineering activities underway for future projects to reconstruct and improve I-95 in Center City and South Philadelphia.
