Lane Shifts Scheduled on Ramps at I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) Interchanges at Girard Avenue and Montgomery Drive in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Lane shifts are scheduled on ramps at the Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) interchanges at Girard Avenue and Montgomery Drive in Philadelphia on Monday, October 29, through Friday, November 16, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for tree clearing operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The ramps will remain open to traffic during this operation.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur during this safety enhancement project. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

These operations are part of a vegetation management project that includes the clearing, clean-up and stabilization of an 18-acre area along a five-mile section of I-76 between the U.S. 1 and 30th Street/Market Street interchanges in Philadelphia.

J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, Chester County is the general contractor on the $1,770,861 project which is financed with 100 percent state funds. The project is expected to finish in summer 2019.
