PennDOT - District 6 News: I-95, Route 29 (Bridge Street) Lane Closures Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Chester and Philadelphia Counties

I-95, Route 29 (Bridge Street) Lane Closures Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Chester and Philadelphia Counties

​King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia and Route 29 in Chester County next week, for bridge inspection, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, November 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 29 (Bridge Street) between Starr Street and Walnut Street in Upper Providence Township and Phoenixville Borough, Chester County;
  • Tuesday, November 5, through Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on southbound on southbound I-95 between Enterprise Avenue and Route 291/Philadelphia International Airport interchanges in Philadelphia; and
  • Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, on northbound I-95 between Route 291 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
