Thunderstorm Hazards today Though excessive heat will not be a hazard today, the risk for thunderstorm hazards, primarily strong winds and heavy rain, has increased. Below is the latest convective outlook for today. Areas in yellow (Philadelphia to the north) have the highest risk of seeing strong winds and small hail with thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. There is a very small chance for a tornado with the storms this afternoon and evening. One thing to note, if overcast conditions continue for much of the day, the thunderstorm risk may be less than what the outlook indicates. Chester County Forecasted Conditions: · A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 11am. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 85. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
