I-95 North Lane Closures Planned in Philadelphia for Pavement Repair

Lane closures are planned on northbound Interstate 95 between the
Washington
Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) and Interstate 676/U.S. 30 interchanges

(Exit 22) in Philadelphia, over the next two Thursdays through Saturdays,
to
the replacement of a deteriorated section of concrete, the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.

Crews will work the next two weekends to remove and replace a 58-foot wide
by
16-foot long section of concrete pavement on I-95 north. Motorists are
advised
to use an alternate route or allow more time for travel on I-95 north
because
backups will occur during construction.

The contractor's work schedule, which is weather dependent, is:

• Thursday, November 10, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, I-95 north will be
reduced
from four lanes to two with the closure of the two left lanes between the
Washington Avenue/ Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) and Interstate 676/U.S. 30
interchanges (Exit 22);
• From 11:00 PM Thursday, November 10, to 5:00 AM Friday, November 11,
northbound I-95 will be reduced from four lanes to one lane between the
Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) and Interstate 676/U.S. 30
interchanges (Exit 22);
• From 11:00 PM Friday, November 11, to 8:00 AM Saturday, November 12,
northbound I-95 will be reduced from four lanes to one lane between the
Washington Avenue/ Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) and Interstate 676/U.S. 30
interchanges (Exit 22);
• Saturday, November 12, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, I-95 north will be
reduced
from four lanes to two between the Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard
(Exit
20) and Interstate 676/U.S. 30 interchanges (Exit 22);
• From 11:00 PM Thursday, November 17, to 5:00 AM Friday, November 18,
northbound I-95 will be reduced from four lanes to one lane between the
Washington Avenue/ Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) and Interstate 676/U.S. 30
interchanges (Exit 22);
• Friday, November 18, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, I-95 north will be reduced

from four lanes to two as the two right lanes will close between the
Washington
Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) and Interstate 676/U.S. 30 interchanges

(Exit 22);
• From 11:00 PM Friday, November 18, to 8:00 AM Saturday, November 19,
northbound I-95 will be restricted to one open lane between the Washington
Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) and Interstate 676/U.S. 30 interchanges

(Exit 22); and
• Saturday, November 19, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, I-95 north will be
reduced
from four lanes to two between the Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard
(Exit
20) and Interstate 676/U.S. 30 interchanges (Exit 22).

Additionally, the Columbus Boulevard entrance ramp to I-95 north/I-676 west

will be closed and detoured during construction hours. Columbus Boulevard
motorists wanting to access I-676 west will follow Callowhill Street and
8th
Street and the on-ramp to I-676 west. Columbus Boulevard motorists wanting
to
access I-95 north will be directed to take the Lombard Circle on-ramp
northbound I-95.
