U.S. 30 Night Lane Closures Planned in West Whiteland Township, Chester
County

11/8/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA

Nighttime lane closures will be in place this week and early next week on
U.S.
30 in both directions between the Business U.S. 30 and Route 100
interchanges
in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, for the removal of construction

barriers, paving, line painting and rumble strip installation, the
Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said today.

This operation, which will remove the temporary lane shift on eastbound
U.S.
30, is part of the $2.9 million project to repair the highway and address
sinkhole activity at two locations on U.S. 30. The project is scheduled to
finish in mid-November.

Eastbound U.S. 30 will be reduced to one lane tonight, November 8, through
Friday, November 11, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Westbound U.S. 30 will be
restricted to one lane from 7:00 PM Thursday, November 10, to 5:00 AM
Friday,
November 11. In addition, both eastbound and westbound U.S. 30 will be
reduced
to one lane from 7:00 PM Monday, November 14 to 5:00 AM Tuesday, November
15.

The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.

PennDOT began construction on June 1, 2016, to reinforce the earth under
U.S.
30 in the median and parts of the eastbound and westbound inside travel
lanes
about 2,000 feet east of the Business U.S. 30 Interchange, and in the
eastbound
inside lane and median approximately 1,000 feet east of the bridge over
Clover
Mill Road.

Road-Con, Inc. of West Chester, Chester County, is the general contractor
on
the $2,971,205 project that is financed with 100 percent state funds.
