I-95 Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week for Ramp Construction and Sign
Testing in Philadelphia and Delaware County

Lane closures are scheduled next week on northbound and southbound
Interstate
95 in Philadelphia and Delaware County for ramp construction and sign
testing
operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced
today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, February 20, through Thursday, February 23, from 8:00 PM to 5:00
AM
the following morning, intermittent single and double lane closures are
scheduled on northbound and southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross
Bridge/Aramingo
Avenue Interchange for overhead ramp construction;

• Tuesday, February 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, intermittent lane and
shoulder
closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Bridge Street and
Allegheny Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia; and

• Tuesday, February 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, intermittent lane and
shoulder
closures are scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Route 420 (Exit
9A/9B)
and Bartram Avenue (Exit 10) interchanges in Tinicum Township, Delaware
County,
for electronic message sign testing.

The work at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange is associated

with a $160.2 million project to improve the ramp system at the
interchange.
The sign structure operation is part of PennDOT's ongoing upgrade of
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) components on I-95 and other
regional
highways.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow more time for
travel
on I-95 because backups will occur. All scheduled activities are weather
dependent.
