Severe Thunderstorm Warning

This is a message from ReadyPhiladelphia.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect until 12:00am.  High winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning possible.  Seek shelter.


The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ  has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until midnight EST

* at 1108 PM EST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Plymouth Meeting to near Bel Air north, moving
east at 60 mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Philadelphia, Toms River, Camden, Wilmington, Vineland, Newark,
Millville, Bridgeton, Middletown, West Chester, Elkton, Gloucester
City, Cumberland, Lakewood, Calvert, Bensalem, Jackson, Evesham,
Mount Laurel and Norristown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

This severe thunderstorm may contain little or no lightning. Do not
wait until you hear thunder before taking cover.
