Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Bridge Inspections in
Philadelphia and Montgomery County

Travel restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 76, Interstate and other
highways in the Philadelphia region for bridge inspections, the
Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, June 5, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to
close on westbound I-76 between the U.S. 1 (City Avenue) and Belmont
Avenue/Green Lane interchanges in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County;

• Monday, June 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to
close
on the ramp from University Avenue to westbound I-76 in Philadelphia;

• Monday, June 5, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to
close
on northbound 34th Street between Grays Ferry Avenue and University Avenue;

• Tuesday, June 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled
on
Glenside Avenue/Chelten Hills Drive between Heacock Lane and Church Road in

Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County;

• Tuesday, June 6, and Wednesday, June 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the
right
lane is scheduled to close on southbound I-95 between the Broad Street
(Route
611) and Enterprise Avenue/Island Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;

• Wednesday, June 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on Ross Road between Quarry Road and Merion Street in Bridgeport Borough,
Montgomery County;

• Thursday, June 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to

close on southbound I-95 between the Broad Street (Route 611) and
Enterprise
Avenue/Island Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;

• Friday, June 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to
close
on northbound I-95 between the Enterprise Avenue/Island Avenue and Broad
Street
(Route 611) interchanges in Philadelphia;

• Friday, June 9, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to
close on northbound Evergreen Road/Old Township Line Road, between the
intersections of Rupert Road and West Ridge Pike in Limerick Township,
Montgomery County; and

• Friday, June 9, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to
close on southbound Evergreen Road/Old Township Line Road, between the
intersections of Rupert Road and West Ridge Pike in Limerick Township,
Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur. The schedules are dependent on the weather.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.
