Wolf Administration Announces Work to Begin on Improvement Project to
Resurface 18 Miles of State Highway in Delaware County

7/13/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

The Wolf Administration announced today that construction is scheduled to
begin
Sunday, July 16, on an improvement project to repair and resurface 18 miles
of
state highway in Delaware County. Work on the entire project is expected to
be
completed in mid-November.

"Taking care of our roads is a priority, and one that benefits everyone,
whether you drive, bike, walk or ride a bus," Governor Tom Wolf said.
"Improvement projects like this are vital to the sustainability of our
transportation network and the Commonwealth's overall infrastructure."

Beginning on Sunday, July 16, through Thursday, July 20, from 7:00 PM to
5:00
AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Providence Road between Route 252
(Palmers Mill Road) and the Chester County line in Upper Providence and
Edgmont
townships, for milling.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this work
zone
because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor's schedule
is
dependent on the weather.

Additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract
include:

• Rogers Lane/Plush Mill Road/Wallingford Road between Turner Road and
Baltimore Pike in Nether Providence and Springfield townships;
• Brookhaven Road between Route 352 (Edgmont Avenue) and Route 252
(Providence
Road) in Nether Providence Township and Rose Valley and Brookhaven
boroughs;
• Orange Street between Baltimore Avenue and Kirk Lane in Media Borough and

Upper Providence Township;
• Knowlton Road between Route 452 (Pennell Road) and Route 352 (New
Middletown
Road) in Aston and Middletown townships;
• Lungren Road/ Parkmount Road/Glen Riddle Road between Lenni Road and
Route
352 (New Middletown Road) in Middletown Township;
• Gradyville Road between Route 352 (Middletown Road) and Crum Creek Bridge
in
Edgmont Township;
• Sweetwater Road between Creek Road and Valley Road in Thornbury and
Edgmont
townships; and
• Brinton Lake Road between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Dilworthtown Road
in
Concord and Thornbury townships.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill the existing roadway
surface
and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal
the
roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Allan Myers, LP, of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor
on
the $4,098,777 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
