U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) Lane Restrictions Scheduled for High-Friction Resurfacing in Delaware County

U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) Lane Restrictions Scheduled for High-Friction
Resurfacing in Delaware County

10/19/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

Lane restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) between
State
Road and Harding Road on Monday, October 23, through Thursday, October 26,
from
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for high-friction resurfacing operations as part of a
project to improve travel and safety on a 3.4-mile section of U.S. 1
(Township
Line Road) in Upper Darby and Haverford townships, Delaware County, the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The
project is scheduled to be completed in November.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
area
because backups and delays will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather

dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is reconfiguring the four-lane
section
of U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) to a five-lane section that includes a
center
turn lane along the corridor; resurfacing the highway from State Road to
Harding Drive, narrowing lane widths, installing radar display speed signs
and
speed limit legends at various locations to help reduce speeds; performing
tree
and bush trimming operations along the south side of U.S. 1 (Township Line
Road) between Blythe Avenue and Belfield Avenue; and installing High
Friction
Surface Treatment (HFST) on the northbound right lane of U.S. 1 (Township
Line
Road) between State Road and Arrowhead Lane to improve safety.

Allan A. Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general
contractor
on the $1,077,555 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
