Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on
several
state highways in Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Sunday, March 4, through Wednesday, March 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a
right
lane closure is scheduled on Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) between 26th Street
and
Interstate 95;
• Monday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on Cheltenham Avenue between 12th Street and Broad Street;
• Tuesday, March 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Byberry Road and Horning

Road/Crown Way;
• Wednesday, March 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on 26th Street between Interstate 76 and Hartranft Street;
• Thursday, March 8, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled
on the ramp from I-95 north to Interstate 676; and
• Thursday, March 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
I-95 between the I-676 and Columbus Boulevard interchanges.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the
structures.
