I-76 West Ramp to 30th Street to Reopen Friday Morning in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – The ramp from westbound Interstate 76 to 30th Street in Philadelphia will reopen to traffic by 5:00 AM tomorrow morning, September 14, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The ramp had been closed since Sunday, August 19 for repair and resurfacing operations as part of a 103.6 million project to rehabilitate the Chestnut Street bridge over the Schuylkill River and seven other nearby structures, including those carrying Schuylkill Avenue over I-76 between Walnut Street and Chestnut Street, and between Chestnut Street and Market Street.

The ramp from westbound I-76 to 30th Street will be closed and detoured again periodically overnights during the remainder of the project for various construction activities, however the ramp will not be closed during the day.

Buckley & Company Inc., of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
