King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) motorists will encounter lane restrictions next week between Interstate 76 and Wissahickon Avenue in Philadelphia for bridge inspection, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:
  • Wednesday, September 19, and Thursday, September 20, from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM, the right lane is scheduled to close on southbound U.S. 1; and
  • Thursday, September 20, from 1:00 AM to 4:00 AM, the two right lanes are scheduled to close on northbound U.S. 1.
In addition, the right lane is scheduled to close on eastbound Tyburn Road at the U.S. 13 Interchange in Falls Township, Bucks County, on Monday, September 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
