Interchanges in Chester County

7/8/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA

Travel restrictions are scheduled at night next week on U.S. 202 between
the
Route 401 and U.S. 30 interchanges in East Whiteland Township, Chester
County,
for the final stage of median reconstruction and the start of preparations
to
open the newly reconstructed and widened expressway to three lanes in each
direction in early August, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT) announced today.

The overnight construction is part of PennDOT's $63.3 million project to
widen
and reconstruct 2.5 miles of U.S. 202 from north of Route 401 to U.S. 30,
and
to rebuild and improve the Route 401 Interchange.

On Monday, July 11, through Thursday, July 14, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, and from 8:00 PM Friday, July 15, to 10:00 AM Saturday,
July
16, U.S. 202 south will be reduced to one lane between the Route 401 and
U.S.
30 interchanges for excavation for a storm water management basin, pavement

grinding and shoulder paving.

On Monday, July 11, through Thursday, July 14, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, and from 8:00 PM Friday, July 15, to 10:00 AM Saturday,
July
16, U.S. 202 north will be reduced to one lane between the U.S. 30 and
Route
401 interchanges for the removal of construction barriers and line
painting.

The scheduled operations are weather dependent.

PennDOT's contractor will work weeknights for the remainder of July to
remove
construction barriers, paint new traffic lines and complete other roadwork
before opening U.S. 202 to three lanes in each direction in early August.

The contractor's schedule is weather dependent, and motorists are advised
to
allow additional time for travel and use extra care when driving through
the
construction zones.

Construction to expand U.S. 202 to six lanes from north of Route 401 to
U.S.
30, including work at the Route 401 Interchange, is being performed by

Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County.
