Aramingo Avenue Ramp to I-95 South to Reopen Next Week at Betsy Ross Bridge
Interchange

3/3/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today
that
the Aramingo Avenue ramp to Interstate 95 south at the Betsy Ross
Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia will reopen to traffic
by
6:00 AM Friday morning, March 10.

The ramp reconstruction and improvement is associated with the $160.2
million
contract in progress to rebuild ramps and improve connections at the I-95
Interchange with the Betsy Ross Bridge and Aramingo Avenue. Construction
began
in March 2015 and is scheduled to finish in fall 2017.

Weather permitting, crews will work Thursday night, March 9, from 8:00 PM
to
6:00 AM the following morning to remove construction barrier, paint lane
markings and remove construction signs before reopening the ramp to
traffic.

Traffic using the lower part of the ramp, which remains open for motorists
heading to northbound I-95, may encounter lane shifts and periodic
stoppages of
up to 15 minutes during preparations to open the southbound portion of the
ramp.

Also scheduled next week:

• Monday, March 6, through Thursday, March 9, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, intermittent single and double lane closures will be in
place on northbound and southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo
Avenue interchange for overhead ramp construction; and

• Monday, March 6, through Thursday, March 9, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, periodic lane and shoulder closures will be in place on
northbound and southbound I-95 between the Philadelphia International
Airport
and Bartram Avenue interchanges for replacement of electronic message
signs.

The sign structure operations are part of PennDOT's ongoing upgrade of
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) components on I-95 and other
regional
highways.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow more time for
travel
on I-95 because backups will occur. All scheduled activities are weather
dependent.
