Nighttime Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Resurfacing in Chester
County

Nighttime lane restrictions are scheduled next week on several state
highways
for resurfacing operations, as part of a $2 million project to repair and
resurface 13 miles of state highway in Chester County, the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Sunday, June 4, through Thursday, June 8, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane
restrictions are scheduled on Marshall Street/Goshen Road/Phoenixville Pike

between North High Street and Saunders Lane in West Chester Borough and
West
Goshen Township, for milling; and
• Sunday, June 4, through Thursday, June 8, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane
restrictions are scheduled on Harmonyville Road/Laurelwood Road/Neiman Road

from just west of Cherry Hill Lane to South Hanover Street in North
Coventry
Township, for paving.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work

zones because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent
on
the weather.

The additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract

include:

• Isabella Road between Chestnut Tree Road and Creek Road in West Nantmeal
Township;
• North Wayne Avenue/Upper Gulph Road/Radnor Road between the Delaware
County
Line and the Montgomery County Line in Tredyffrin Township;
• Coldstream Road between Hares Hill Road and Kimberton Road in East
Pikeland
Township;
• Flowing Springs Road/Hollow Road between Birchrun Road Bridge and St.
Matthews Road in West Vincent Township;
• Hanover Street between Route 724 (Schuylkill Road) and the Schuylkill
River
in North Coventry Township;
• South 13th Avenue/Olive Street/Caln Road between Business U.S. 30 and
Business U.S. 30 in the City of Coatesville and Caln Township;
• Birdell Road between just south of Hill Road and U.S. 322 in Honey Brook
Township;
• Temple Road/Sheep Hill Road/Cedarville Road/Laurelwood Road between
Temple
Road and Route 724 (Schuylkill Road) in North Coventry Township;
• North Chestnut Street between Route 23 (Main Street) and the Berks County

Line in Elverson Borough; and
• Phoenixville Pike between Saunders Lane and Andrew Drive in West Goshen
Township.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in late October.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill the existing roadway
surface
and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal
the
roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Allan A. Myers, LP, of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor
on the $2,077,777 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds
from
Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
