Lane Restrictions Scheduled on Route 309 for Maintenance of Overhead
Highway Signs in Montgomery County

Motorists will encounter lane restrictions next week on northbound and
southbound Route 309 in Springfield, Whitemarsh, Lower Gwynedd, Upper
Dublin
and Montgomery townships, Montgomery County, for maintenance of overhead
highway signs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, September 11, through Wednesday, September 13, from 9:00 AM to
3:00
PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on northbound and southbound Route 309
between Paper Mill Road and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange in
Springfield and Whitemarsh townships;
• Wednesday, September 13, and Thursday, September 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane restrictions are scheduled on northbound Route 309 between the
Norristown
Road and Route 63 (Welsh Road) interchanges in Lower Gwynedd Township;
• Wednesday, September 13, and Thursday, September 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane restrictions are scheduled on northbound and southbound Route 309
between
the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Highland Avenue interchanges in Upper Dublin
Township;
• Thursday, September 14, and Friday, September 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane restrictions are scheduled on northbound Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike)
between the Route 63 (Welsh Road) and Stump Road interchanges in Montgomery

Township; and
• Thursday, September 14, and Friday, September 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane restrictions are scheduled on southbound Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike)
between Stump Road and the Norristown Road Interchange in Montgomery
Township.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is replacing and repairing large
sign
structures on various state routes throughout Bucks, Montgomery and
Philadelphia counties, including but not limited to Route 309, Route 611
and
U.S. 1.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in early December.

J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc., of Hackensack, New Jersey is the general
contractor on the $644,888 project, which is financed with 100 percent
state
funds.
