Delaware Avenue Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Improvement Project in Philadelphia

Delaware Avenue Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Improvement
Project in Philadelphia

10/6/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

Daytime and nighttime lane restrictions are scheduled in both directions on

Delaware Avenue from Oregon Avenue to just south of the Walt Whitman
Bridge, on
Monday, October 9, through Friday, October 13, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and
7:00
PM to 5:00 AM, for milling, paving and widening operations as part of a
project
to improve travel along Delaware Avenue between Oregon Avenue to just south
of
Packer Avenue in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation
(PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
zone
because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor's schedule
is
dependent on the weather.

PennDOT's contractor is widening and resurfacing Delaware Avenue to provide
two
travel lanes from Oregon Avenue to where the highway ends just south of the

Packer Avenue Marine Terminal south gate. A pull-off area for trucks is
also
being constructed at the far southern end of the project to allow trucks to

park off the roadway while waiting to enter the marine terminal.

Work on the project is expected to be completed later this fall.

Tony DePaul and Son of Philadelphia, PA is the general contractor on the
$551,216 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
