U.S. 1 South Lane Closure Scheduled Wednesday for Overhead Bridge Inspection in Bucks County

U.S. 1 South Lane Closure Scheduled Wednesday for Overhead Bridge
Inspection in Bucks County

10/10/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

The right lane is scheduled to close on southbound U.S. 1 between
Interstate 95
and Stony Hill Road in Falls, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships,
Bucks
County, on Wednesday, October 11, from 9:00 AM for 3:00 PM, for a bridge
inspection on the structure carrying Oxford Valley Road over U.S. 1,
following
damage sustained to a beam during a large vehicle crash this afternoon, the

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work

zones because slowdowns will occur. The work schedule is weather dependent.

The three-span, steel-I beam bridge, which was built in 1972, had reopened
in
August following a nine-month rehabilitation project to repair damage
sustained
during a June 2015 crash.

The Oxford Valley Road bridge over U.S. 1 is 167 feet long and 90 feet wide
and
carries about 31,000 vehicles a day.
