Nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled next week on southbound
Interstate
95 for ramp work at the Bridge Street and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges in

Philadelphia as crews prepare to reopen the southbound I-95 ramp to
Aramingo
Avenue early Tuesday morning, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation

(PennDOT) announced today.

On Monday, July 10, and Tuesday, July 11, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following
morning, single lane restrictions will be in place on southbound I-95 and
the
ramp to the Betsy Ross Bridge and Aramingo Avenue for barrier removal and
line
striping operations. Crews will shift traffic onto the permanent approach
to
the ramp and reopen the section of the ramp that leads to Aramingo Avenue
by
5:00 AM Tuesday, July 11. Barrier removal and line striping will be
completed
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. In the event of rain, the line
striping
operations on the ramp would be moved to the following night. The portion
of
the ramp to Aramingo Avenue has been closed since September 2016 for
reconstruction.

The work at the I-95/Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange is part of a $160.2
million
project to rebuild ramps and improve connections to and from I-95, Aramingo

Avenue and the Betsy Ross Bridge.

In addition to ramp restrictions, intermittent lane closures are scheduled
on
Monday, July 10, through Friday, July 14, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following
morning, on southbound I-95 between the Bridge Street and Allegheny Avenue
interchanges for sign structure work.

The work is part of PennDOT's initiative to update Intelligent
Transportation
Systems' (ITS) equipment on regional highways.
