PennDOT to Host Open House Public Meeting for Chestnut Street Bridge
Rehabilitation Project in Philadelphia

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will hold an open
house
public meeting on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at
Greenfield Elementary School at 2200 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia to
review
construction and sequencing plans for the Chestnut Street Bridge
Rehabilitation
Project.

The purpose of the meeting is to present the proposed construction schedule
and
activities for rehabilitation of bridges carrying Chestnut Street over
Lower
30th Street, I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway), Schuylkill River, Schuylkill
River
Trail as well as the CSX Railroad and 24th Street. Proposed work also
includes
Schuylkill Avenue West over I-76 from Walnut to Market Streets, the I-76
westbound off-ramp at Chestnut Street and the I-76 eastbound on-ramp at
Walnut
Street.

The project is intended to maintain and enhance safe and efficient
transportation facilities on the Chestnut Street corridor between 34th
Street
and 22nd Street.

The public meeting will be conducted as an open-house plans display where
citizens will have the opportunity to circulate among the subject displays
to
gather information and discuss the different facets of the project with
PennDOT's design team.
