PennDOT to Resurface Six State Highways in Philadelphia and Chester County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced
that
lane restrictions are scheduled on four state highways in the Philadelphia
region next week for the milling and resurfacing.

Weather permitting, the resurfacing schedule is:

• On Sunday, September 18, through Tuesday, September 20, from 8:00 PM to
5:00
AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in Kennett
and
East Marlborough township, Chester County, for paving;
• On Monday, September 19, through Friday, September 23, from 7:00 PM to
5:00
AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Broad Street (Route 611) between
Indiana
Avenue and Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia for paving;
• On Monday, September 19, through Friday, September 23, from 7:00 PM to
5:00
AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Robbins Avenue between Frankford
Avenue
and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) in Philadelphia for milling; and
• On Wednesday, September 21, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions
are
scheduled on Route 401 (Conestoga Road) between French Bridge and Iron
Stone
Lane West Nantmeal Township, Chester County, for paving.

These four state highways are being repaired and resurfaced under four
separate
resurfacing contracts worth $9 million. These contracts are financed with
100
percent state funds through Act 89, Pennsylvania's transportation plan.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.

accessible
on the 511PA website.
