U.S. 30 Night Lane Closures this Week in West Whiteland Township, Chester
County

9/13/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA

U.S. 30 will be reduced to one lane in both directions between the Business

U.S. 30 and Route 100 interchanges in West Whiteland Township, Chester
County,
from 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, to 5:00 AM Thursday, September 15,
for
the removal of concrete construction barriers, the Pennsylvania Department
of
Transportation (PennDOT) said today.

This operation is part of the $2.9 million project to repair the highway
and
address sinkhole activity at two locations on U.S. 30. The project is
scheduled
to finish in October.

Following this overnight operation, the traffic pattern on westbound U.S.
30
will be restored to its original condition, although the inside shoulder
will
remain closed. In the event the contractor does not complete the work in
one
night, U.S. 30 lane restrictions will be in place from 7:00 PM Thursday,
September 15, to 5:00 AM Friday, September 16. The contractor's work
schedule
is weather dependent.

PennDOT began construction on June 1, 2016, to reinforce the earth under
U.S.
30 in the median and parts of the eastbound and westbound inside travel
lanes
about 2,000 feet east of the Business U.S. 30 Interchange, and in the
eastbound
inside lane and median approximately 1,000 feet east of the bridge over
Clover
Mill Road.

Road-Con, Inc. of West Chester, Chester County, is the general contractor
on
the $2,971,205 project that is financed with 100 percent state funds.
