U.S. 30 Lane Closures Friday Night in West Whiteland Township, Chester

U.S. 30 will be reduced to one lane in both directions between the Business

U.S. 30 and Route 100 interchanges in West Whiteland Township, Chester
County,
from 7:00 PM Friday, September 30, to 5:00 AM Saturday, October 1, for the
removal of concrete construction barriers and line painting, the
Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said today.

This operation is part of the $2.9 million project to repair the highway
and
address sinkhole activity at two locations on U.S. 30. The project is
scheduled
to finish in late October.

The contractor's work schedule is weather dependent. In the event this
upcoming
operation is postponed due to rain, the work will be take place from 7:00
PM
Sunday night, October 2, to 5:00 AM Monday, October 3.

PennDOT began construction on June 1, 2016, to reinforce the earth under
U.S.
30 in the median and parts of the eastbound and westbound inside travel
lanes
about 2,000 feet east of the Business U.S. 30 Interchange, and in the
eastbound
inside lane and median approximately 1,000 feet east of the bridge over
Clover
Mill Road.

Road-Con, Inc. of West Chester, Chester County, is the general contractor
on
the $2,971,205 project that is financed with 100 percent state funds.
