Route 313 (Swamp Road) to Close at U.S. 202 Friday Night into Saturday in
Doylestown Borough for Intersection Resurfacing

9/21/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA

Route 313 (Swamp Road) is scheduled to close at the U.S. 202 Intersection
in
Doylestown Borough, Bucks County, from 8:00 PM Friday, September 23, to
5:00 PM
Saturday, September 24, for resurfacing, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) said today.

During the closure of Route 313 (Swamp Road), motorists will be detoured
over
Route 263 (York Road), Route 413 (Durham Road) and Cold Spring Creamery
Road.

In addition to the closure of Route 313 (Swamp Road), U.S. 202 will be
narrowed
to a single lane of traffic at the intersection with Route 313 (Swamp
Road).
Traffic on U.S. 202 will be controlled by flagging.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this work
area.
The construction schedule is contingent on the weather.

This resurfacing operation is part of an $11 million project to enhance
travel
at the crossing of U.S. 202 and Route 313 (Swamp Road). PennDOT's
contractor is
realigning and widening U.S. 202 from East State Street to just north of
Route
313 (Swamp Road) to provide two lanes in each direction and turn lanes. In
addition, crews are widening Route 313 approaching U.S. 202 to provide
extended
left turn lanes; widening U.S. 202 at Mechanicsville Road to provide a
northbound left turn lane; realigning Mechanicsville Road to create a
T-intersection at U.S. 202; and realigning East State Street to create a
T-intersection at U.S. 202 and adding turn lanes on each approach to the
intersection.

The project also includes building a park-and-ride lot near the
intersection of
U.S. 202 and State Street; installing Intelligent Transportation System
components; adding new sidewalks to connect with a local trail system;
installing new drainage; and erecting new traffic signals.

James D. Morrissey, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the
project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The project
construction is expected finish in October 2017.
