Three State Highways to Close for Rail Crossing Replacements in Montgomery
County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced
that
three state highways will be closed and detoured in Montgomery County for
rail
crossing replacements by Norfolk Southern Railroad and the Southeastern
Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).

The three state highways to be closed are:

• From 9:00 PM, Monday, September 19, through 7:00 PM, Saturday, September
24,
Hanover Street will be closed between South Street and Queen Street in
Pottstown Borough by Norfolk Southern Railroad. Motorists will be detoured
over
High Street, Route 100 (Pottstown Pike), and Route 724 (Schuylkill Road);
• From 8:00 PM, Friday, October 7, to 8:00 PM Saturday, October 8,
Montgomery
Avenue will be closed between New Street and Penn Street in Hatboro Borough
by
SEPTA. Drivers will follow Route 263 (York Road), County Line Road, and
Route
332 (Jacksonville Road); and
• From 9:00 AM, Monday, October 10, through 7:00 PM, Friday, October 14,
Byberry Road will be closed between New Street and Penn Street in Hatboro
Borough by SEPTA. Drivers will be detoured over Route 263 (York Road) and
Warminster Road,

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.
