I-95, U.S. 1, I-476 and I-76 Lane Closures Next Week for Guide Rail and
Barrier Repair in Delaware and Philadelphia Counties

Lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate 95, U.S. 1, Interstate
476
and Interstate 76 in Delaware and Philadelphia counties, for guide rail and

barrier repair operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Wednesday, May 10, from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM, the right lane is scheduled
to
close on northbound I-95 between the Delaware state line and Route 452
(Market
Street) in Upper Chichester and Lower Chichester townships, Delaware
County,
for guide rail repair;
• Thursday, May 11, from 12:00 AM to 2:30 AM, the right lane is scheduled
to
close on northbound I-95 between Kerlin Street and Route 352 (Edgmont
Avenue/Avenue of the States) in the City of Chester, Delaware County, for
guide
rail repair;
• Thursday, May 11, from 2:30 AM to 5:00 AM, the right lane is scheduled to

close on northbound I-95 between the I-476 and Ridley Park interchanges in
Ridley Township, Delaware County, for guide rail repair;
• Thursday, May 11, from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM, the left lane is scheduled to

close on southbound I-95 between Bridge Street and Allegheny Avenue in
Philadelphia, for guide rail repair;
• Thursday, May 11, from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM, the right lane is scheduled
to
close on southbound U.S. 1 (Media Bypass) between Route 252 (Providence
Road)
and Baltimore Pike in Upper Providence and Middletown townships, Delaware
County, for guide rail repair;
• Friday, May 12, from 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM, the left lane is scheduled to
close
on southbound U.S. 1 (Media Bypass) between Route 252 (Providence Road) and

Baltimore Pike in Upper Providence and Middletown townships, Delaware
County,
for guide rail repair;
• Friday, May 12, from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM, the left lane is scheduled to
close
on northbound I-476 between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Route 3 (West
Chester
Pike) in Marple Township, Delaware County, for guide rail repair; and
• Friday, May 12, from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM, the right lane is scheduled to
close
on westbound I-76 between South Street and 30th Street in Philadelphia, for

barrier repair.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The guide rail work is part of a $2.2 million project to replace guide rail

across the Philadelphia region.

Long Fence Company, Inc. of Phoenixville, Chester County, is the general
contractor on the project which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
