Lane Restrictions Scheduled on Four State Highways for High-Friction
Resurfacing in Philadelphia Region

Lane closures are scheduled on four state highways in Chester, Delaware and

Montgomery counties for high friction resurfacing operations, the
Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
closures are scheduled on Route 401 (Conestoga Road) between St. Matthews
Road
and Rachel Drive in West Vincent Township, Chester County;
• Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
closures are scheduled on Goshen Road between Crum Creek Lane and Echo
Valley
Lane in Newtown Township, Delaware County;
• Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
closures are scheduled on Pleasant View Road between Foxtail Drive and
Sanatoga
Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County; and
• Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
closures are scheduled on Stenton Avenue at the Narcissa Road and
Norristown
Road Intersection in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The work is part of a $4.8 million resurfacing project to improve travel
and
safety on 25 state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and
Philadelphia counties, by installing a high-friction surface treatment to
provide increased friction and grip on pavements in wet and dry conditions.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on
the
project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state
funds.
