U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) and Route 926 (Street Road) Nighttime Lane
Restrictions Scheduled for Resurfacing in Chester County

Nighttime lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled next week on U.S.
202
(Wilmington Pike) and Route 926 (Street Road) in Chester County for milling
and
paving operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced today.

The work schedule, which is weather dependent, is:

• Route 926 (Street Road) between Cheyney Thornton Road and Route 352
(Chester
Road/Middletown Road) in Thornbury and Westtown townships, on Sunday, May
7,
through Tuesday, May 9, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, for paving; and
• U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between Dilworthtown Road and the U.S. 202
Expressway Interchange in Westtown, West Goshen, Thornbury and Birmingham
townships, on Sunday, May 7, through Thursday, May 11, for milling and
paving.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling these work zones
because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor's schedule
is
dependent on the weather.

This work is part of a $3.4 million project to repair and resurface over 13

miles of state highway in Chester County.

As part of this project, crews resurfaced Birmingham Road between Route 52
(Lenape Road) and Route 842 (Miner Street) in East Bradford Township; Route
842
(Creek Road/West Miner Street) between Brandywine Creek and South High
Street
in East Bradford Township and West Chester Borough; and Route 401
(Conestoga
Road) between French Bridge and Iron Stone Lane in West Nantmeal Township.

The additional state highways to be repaired and resurfaced under this
contract
are:

• The eastbound and westbound ramps from Route 82 (Manor Road) to the U.S.
30
Bypass in Valley Township; and
• The eastbound and westbound ramps Reeceville Road to the U.S. 30 Bypass
in
Caln Township.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill the existing roadway
surface
and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal
the
roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface. Work on the
project is expected to be completed in July 2017.

Allan A. Myers, LP, of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor
on the $3,385,777 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds
from
Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
