PennDOT - District 6 News: I-76, Route 73 Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

I-76, Route 73 Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate 76 and Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, March 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 at the U.S. 1 South Interchange in Philadelphia;
  • Tuesday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the Gulph Mills and Interstate 476 interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough and Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County;
  • Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the I-476 and Belmont Avenue/Green Lane interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County; and
  • Friday, March 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Evansburg Road and Hendrick Road in Skippack Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
