Miller Road Bridge Closed Indefinitely in Douglass Township, Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – The bridge carrying Miller Road over a branch of Perkiomen Creek in Douglass Township, Montgomery County, is closed indefinitely due to serious deterioration of the brick masonry wingwall caused by recent flooding, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Miller Road will be closed just north of Henry Road until PennDOT engineers can examine the structural damage and develop a plan to repair the bridge.

During the closure, Miller Road motorists will be detoured over Papermill Road, Lone Pine Road and Niantic Road. Local access will be maintained up to the bridge closure.

The brick masonry arch bridge was originally built in 1890. It is 14 feet long, 18 feet wide and carries an average of 254 vehicles a day. The structure is currently posted for 18 tons and 25 tons combination vehicles.
