U.S. 202, U.S. 30 East Ramp Restricted at Night Next Week for Construction in Chester County

King of Prussia, PA –  Nighttime travel restrictions will be in place on U.S. 202 in both directions and on the ramp from the eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 for construction activities in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Weather permitting, the work schedule is:

• Monday, July 22, through Thursday, July 25, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, U.S. 202 will be reduced to one lane northbound and one lane southbound between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges. Crews will continue the weather-delayed setup of the new work zone in the middle of the highway for the final stage of the project to rehabilitate several bridges and ramps; and
• Wednesday, July 24, and Thursday, July 25, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the ramp from the eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 will be closed for removal of overhang brackets from construction that has been completed on the southbound bridge over the ramp and Amtrak. Motorists will be detoured to the Business U.S. 30 exit, right on U.S. 30 Business and right on the ramp to access northbound U.S. 202.

The work is part of PennDOT's $26.4 million project to rehabilitate the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass ramp and replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass. 

Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The entire project is expected to finish this fall. For more information, visit www.us202-300.com.
