U.S. 422 Lane Closures Next Week for Construction on Two Improvement Projects in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures will be in place next week on U.S. 422 in both directions between Township Line Road and Park Road for various construction activities on a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair seven structures along a five-mile section of U.S. 422 between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Weather permitting, the work schedule is:
  • Sunday, July 14, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the left lane and shoulder are scheduled to close on westbound U.S. 422 for concrete saw cutting;
  • Monday, July 15, Tuesday, July 16, and Friday, July 19, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the left lane and shoulder are scheduled to close on eastbound U.S. 422 for concrete patching;
  • Wednesday, July 17, and Thursday, July 18, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 AM the following morning, right lane, shoulder and ramp restrictions are scheduled on eastbound U.S. 422 for concrete patching;
  • Thursday, July 18, from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the left lane and shoulder are scheduled to close on westbound U.S. 422 for bridge repair; and
  • Friday, July 19, from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the right lane and shoulder are scheduled to close on westbound U.S. 422 for bridge repair.
  • In addition, lane restrictions will also be in place on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Egypt Road and Route 363 (Trooper Road) interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships on Sunday, July 14, from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and Monday, July 15, and Tuesday, July 16, from 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM for paving operations.
The work is part of a $7,522,941 project to repair and resurface 39 miles of state highway in Montgomery County. Construction is expected to be completed in December.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on U.S. 422 through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. In the event of weather, the operations will be postponed until the following night if needed.
