U.S. 1 North (Roosevelt Expressway) Lane Closure Next Thursday Night for Viaduct Construction in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – A left lane closure will be in place on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Fox Street and 17th Street in Philadelphia on Thursday, August 1, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for barrier removal under a project to rehabilitate the half-mile-long Wayne Junction Viaduct which carries the expressway over SEPTA tracks, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns and backups will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, N.J. is the general contractor on the $88,456,609 project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2022. For more information, visit us1wav.com.
