PennDOT to Repair and Resurface More Than 10 State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

​King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

Chester County

  • Tuesday, July 16, through Friday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 82 (Manor Road) between Hibernia Road and Chestnut Street in West Nantmeal and West Brandywine townships and Elverson Borough, for paving operations.

Delaware County

  • Monday, July 15, through Saturday, July 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 320 (Sproul Road) between U.S. 1 and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Marple and Springfield townships for concrete island removal;
  • Sunday, July 21, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on East Darby Road between Darby Road and Eagle Road in Haverford Township, for milling and paving operations; and
  • Sunday, July 21, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Darby Road between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Haverford and Darby townships and Lansdowne Borough, for milling and paving operations.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, July 14, through Saturday, July 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 363 (Trooper Road) between Audubon Road and Germantown Pike in Worcester, Lower Providence and West Norriton townships, for milling paving and utility adjustments; 
  • Sunday, July 14, through Saturday, July 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 463 (Horsham Road) between Upper State Road and Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) in Montgomery and Horsham townships, for milling and paving operations;
  • Sunday, July 14, through Saturday, July 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Water Street Road between Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) and Grange Avenue in Worcester and Skippack townships, for milling, paving and utility adjustments;
  • Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Terwood Road between Davisville Road and Greyhorse Road in Upper Moreland Township, for milling and paving operations; and
  • Thursday, July 18, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Red Lion Road between Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) and Route 63 (Philmont Avenue) in Lower Moreland Township, for milling operations.


Philadelphia County

  • Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Wayne Avenue/Walnut Lane between Wissahickon Avenue and Lincoln Drive, for resurfacing operations;
  • Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on the ramps between City Avenue, Lincoln Drive, and Ridge Avenue, for milling and paving operations;
  • Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on 6th Street between Walnut Street and Spring Garden Street for paving operations and other construction activities; and
  • Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Delaware Avenue between Spring Garden Street and Columbia Avenue for paving operations and other construction activities.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
