PennDOT to Repair and Resurface More Than 15 State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

​King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

Bucks County

  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Aquetong Road between Old Windy Bush Road and Solebury Mountain Road in New Hope Borough for milling and paving operations; and
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Swamp Road between Dark Hollow Road and Route 263 (Old York Road) in Buckingham Township for milling and paving operations.

Chester County

  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 82 (Manor Road) between Hibernia Road and Chestnut Street in West Nantmeal and West Brandywine townships and Elverson Borough for paving operations;
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Oakbourne Road between Concord Road and Beechwood Road in West Chester Borough for milling and paving operations;
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Goshen Road between Sugartown Road and Warren Avenue in Tredyffrin Township for milling and paving operations; and
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Goshen Road between Grubbs Mill Road and Boot Road in Newtown Township for milling and paving operations.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, July 21, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on East Darby Road between Darby Road and Eagle Road in Haverford Township for milling and paving operations;
  • Sunday, July 21, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Darby Road between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Haverford and Darby townships and Lansdowne Borough for milling and paving operations; and
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 320 (Sproul Road) between U.S. 1 and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Marple and Springfield townships for concrete island removal.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, July 21, through Tuesday, July 23, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Red Lion Road between Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) and Route 63 (Philmont Avenue) in Lower Moreland Township for milling operations;
  • Sunday, July 21, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 363 (Trooper Road) between Audubon Road and Germantown Pike in Worcester, Lower Providence and West Norriton townships for milling, paving and utility adjustments; 
  • Sunday, July 21, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Water Street Road between Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) and Grange Avenue in Worcester and Skippack townships for milling, paving and utility adjustments;
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Second Avenue between Hafner Road and Springtown Road in Royersford Borough for milling and paving operations;
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Susquehanna Road between Lindsay Lane and Dixon Lane in Jenkintown Borough for milling and paving operations; and
  • Tuesday, July 23, through Thursday, July 25, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Byberry Road between Philmont Avenue and Reading Way in Lower Moreland Township for milling operations.


Philadelphia County

  • Monday, July 22, and Tuesday, July 23, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on the ramps between City Avenue, Lincoln Drive, and Ridge Avenue, for milling and paving operations;
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Wayne Avenue/Walnut Lane between Wissahickon Avenue and Lincoln Drive, for paving operations and other construction activities;
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on 6th Street between Walnut Street and Spring Garden Street for paving operations and other construction activities; and
  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Delaware Avenue between Spring Garden Street and Columbia Avenue for paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
