Hanover Street Lane Closure Scheduled Weekdays for Concrete Patching in Chester and Montgomery Counties
King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter a weekday lane closure on Hanover Street between River Road and Industrial Highway/College Drive in North Coventry Township, Chester County and Pottstown Borough, Montgomery County on Monday, October 14, through Monday, October 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for concrete patching on the bridge carrying Hanover Street over the Schuylkill River, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns will occur. The schedule is dependent on the weather.
The concrete patching is part of a $13.6 million project to improve safety and traffic flow along key corridors in Pottstown Borough and Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County and North Coventry Township, Chester County by upgrading 52 signalized intersections on 12 state highways with new equipment, facilities, and operations. The new signal system will be integrated into PennDOT's Advanced Traffic Management System, allowing the Department to better control traffic diverted from U.S. 422 to area corridors during traffic incidents and emergencies. PennDOT's contractor is also widening the sidewalk and installing new lighting on the Hanover Street bridge to improve pedestrian safety.
Road-Con, Inc of West Chester, Chester County is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 100% federal funds. The entire project is expected to be completed by February 2020.
