PennDOT Reopens Eastbound Route 23 (Main Street) in Elverson Borough Following Drainage Improvements

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today reopened eastbound Route 23 (Main Street) between Route 82 (Chestnut Street) and the Berks County line in Elverson Borough, Chester County following drainage improvements.

The work is part of a restoration project that began in July 2018 to replace deteriorated drainage structures; perform full-depth pavement reconstruction; and install ADA curb ramps at the intersections with Route 82 (Chestnut Street), Hall Street, Park Avenue, Pine Street, and Brick Lane.

This operation was also coordinated with the Elverson Water Company which has worked concurrently to replace its water line on Route 23 (Main Street).

Route 23 (Main Street) motorists can expect additional weekday lane restrictions with flagging to take place over the next few weeks from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for pavement marking and crosswalk installations. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in November.

Allan Myers, LP, of Worcester, PA, is the general contractor on the $4,493,554 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
