Route 252 (Palmer's Mill Road) Overnight Lane Closure for Bridge Construction in Delaware County

King of Prussia, PA – Weeknight lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Route 252 (Palmer's Mill Road) between Lakeview Drive and Newtown Street in Upper Providence and Marple townships, Delaware County, on Monday, October 14, through Friday, October 25, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, for roadway construction under a project to replace the bridge that carries Route 252 (Palmer's Mill Road) over the Springton Reservoir, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Periodic weekday lane restrictions will also remain in place on Route 252 (Palmer's Mill Road) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through the fall.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

The purpose of the bridge replacement is to address existing deficiencies of the Route 252 (Palmer's Mill Road) structure and provide increased span length to accommodate Aqua Pennsylvania's future Springton Reservoir spillway improvement project.

J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, Chester County is the general contractor on the $12,961,717 project which is financed with 100 percent state funds. Construction on this project is expected to finish in the fall of 2021.
