Wolf Administration Announces Work to Begin on Project to Repair and Resurface 5 Miles of State Highway in Bucks County
King of Prussia, PA – The Wolf Administration announced today that construction is scheduled to begin Monday, October 7, on a project to repair and resurface 5 miles of state highway in Bucks County.
"Resurfacing projects are an important part of investing in the state's infrastructure." Governor Tom Wolf said. "The restoration of these critical roadways in Bucks County will help increase safety, efficiency, and quality of life for residents."
Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
On Monday, October 7, through Friday, October 25, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weekday lane closures with flagging are scheduled on Ridge Road between Route 313 (Dublin Pike) and Kellers Church Road in East Rockhill and Bedminster townships.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns may occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.
Durham Road between Mine Hill Road and County Line Road in Durham Township is also scheduled for resurfacing under this contract.
Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc., of Perkasie, Bucks County, is the general contractor on the $1,806,092 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds. Work on the project is expected to be completed in December.
