I-76 West Overnight Lane Closures Next Weekend for ITS Installations in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Westbound Interstate 76 motorists will encounter an overnight lane and shoulder closure between the U.S. 1 (City Avenue) and Belmont Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties on Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9, from 11:00 PM to 9:00 AM the following morning for installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

In addition, periodic shoulder closures will remain in place on I-76 at various locations between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Montgomery Drive weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and possibly weekends from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel in the work area because backups and slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.

This work is part of the first phase of a long-range, comprehensive, multimodal transportation management plan designed to enhance travel and safety along the Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) corridor between King of Prussia and Philadelphia. The project is expected to be completed this fall. For additional details, visit www.transform76.com.
