PennDOT to Repair and Resurface More Than 12 State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

Delaware County

• Sunday, October 13, through Friday, October 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Route 320 (Sproul Road) between U.S. 1 (State Road) and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Springfield and Marple townships for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, October 13, through Friday, October 18, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a lane restriction is scheduled on Burmont Road between State Road and Woodland Avenue in Upper Darby Township for milling and paving operations; and
• Monday, October 14, through Friday, October 18, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane restriction is scheduled on Lenni Road between New Road and Lundgren Road in Middletown and Aston townships for high friction service treatment.


Montgomery County

• Sunday, October 13, through Friday, October 18, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Trooper Road between Shannondell Boulevard and Rogers Road in West Norriton and Lower Providence townships for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, October 13, through Friday, October 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Neiffer Road between Ridge Pike and Game Farm Road and on Game Farm Road between Neiffer Road and Pheasant Road in Limerick Township for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, October 13, through Friday, October 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 332 (Montgomery Avenue) between Route 262 (York Road) and County Line Road in Hatboro Borough for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, October 13, through Friday, October 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Limerick Road between Ridge Pike and Township Line Road in Limerick Township for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, October 13, through Friday, October 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 113 (Broad Street) between Frost Street and County Line Road in Souderton Borough for milling and paving operations; and
• Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a road closure is scheduled on Limerick Road between Saylor Road and Cemetery Road in Limerick Township. During the closure, Limerick Road motorists will be directed to use Cemetery Road, Township Line Road and Saylor Road.


Philadelphia County

• Monday, October 14, through Friday, October 18, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the ramp from Interstate 95 North to Interstate 676 West will be closed and detoured for ramp repair. During the closure, I-95 North motorists will be directed to use the Allegheny Avenue interchange, I-95 South and I-676 West;
• Monday, October 14, through Friday, October 18, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane closures are scheduled on Walnut Street between 24th Street and Broad Street for milling and paving operations;
• Monday, October 14, through Friday, October 18, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the ramp from Interstate 676 East to Interstate 95 South will be closed and detoured for ramp repair. During the closure, I-675 East motorists will be directed to use I-95 North, Allegheny Avenue interchange and I-95 South;
• Monday, October 14, through Friday, October 18, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the ramp from Columbus Boulevard to Interstate 95 North at Locust Circle will be closed and detoured for ramp repair. During the closure, Columbus Boulevard motorists will be directed to access the northbound I-95 ramp at Summer Street or Penns Landing; and
• Monday, October 14, through Friday, October 18, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Market Street between 7th Street and Route 611 (Juniper Street) for milling and paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
