U.S. 422 Lane Closures Next Week for Bridge Construction in Limerick Township, Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 422 will be reduced to a single lane in both directions next week in Limerick Township, Montgomery County for bridge construction under a project to improve a five-mile section of the expressway between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule on U.S. 422 is:

  • Tuesday, October 22, and Wednesday, October 23, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, alternating left and right lane closures will occur on eastbound U.S. 422 between Airport Road and Township Line Road; and
  • Thursday, October 24, and Friday, October 25, from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, alternating left and right lane closures will occur on westbound U.S. 422 between Township Line Road and Lewis Road.

In addition to the lane closures on U.S. 422, travel restrictions will be in place on several surface streets at the expressway in Limerick and Upper Providence townships for bridge construction:

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, October 21, through Friday, October 25, from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, alternating left and right lane closures are scheduled on Evergreen Road between Lightcap Road and Rupert Road in Limerick Township;
  • Monday, October 21, through Friday, October 25, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, lane restrictions with flagging will occur on Airport Road between Lightcap Road and Commerce Court in Limerick Township;
  • Monday, October 21, through Friday, October 25, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, lane restrictions with flagging will occur on Country Club Road between Reifsnyder Road and Eagle Drive in Limerick Township;
  • Monday, October 21, through Friday, October 25, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions with flagging will occur on Troutman Road between Ashenfelter Road and Groff Circle in Upper Providence Township; and
  • Monday, October 21, through Friday, October 25, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions with flagging will occur on Upper Indian Head Road between Cider Mill Road and Winding Ridge Road in Upper Providence Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through all the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

H & K Group Inc. of Skippack, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $18,357,718 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in summer 2021. For more information, visit www.422improvements.com.
