I-95 Night Lane, Ramp Restrictions Next Week at Cottman Avenue in
Philadelphia

Nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 95 next week for
construction at the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) Interchange in Philadelphia,
the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

This work is part of the construction taking place to rebuild the Cottman
Avenue (Route 73) Interchange and reconstruct and widen 1.4 miles of I-95
adjoining the interchange.

•On Sunday, April 24, through Saturday, April 30, I-95 north will be
reduced
periodically from three lanes to two between the Bridge Street and Cottman
Avenue (Route 73) interchanges from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following
morning
for adjustments to the work zone barriers;

•On Sunday, April 24, through Saturday, April 30, the Princeton Avenue
on-ramp
to I-95 north will be closed from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning
for
overhead bridge construction. Motorists will be detoured north on State
Road,
then left on Linden Avenue, then right on the ramp to I-95 north at the
Academy
Road Interchange;

•On Sunday, April 24, through Saturday, April 30, the I-95 north off-ramp
to
Cottman Avenue (Route 73) will be closed from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following
morning for overhead bridge construction. Motorists will be detoured north
on
I-95 to the exit at the Academy Road Interchange, then right on Linden
Avenue,
and right on State Road to Cottman Avenue (Route 73).

In addition, motorists using Richmond Street in the vicinity of the I-95
Girard
Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia will encounter intermittent stoppages
and
periodic single-lane traffic patterns weekdays from Wednesday, April 27, to

Wednesday, May 4, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for the setting of overhead
beams
between Lehigh Avenue and Cumberland Street.

Work on Richmond Street is associated with improvements underway to rebuild
the
Girard Avenue Interchange and reconstruct and widen two miles of I-95 north

between the Girard Avenue and Allegheny Avenue interchanges.

The work schedules are weather dependent. Motorists should expect slow
moving
traffic and delays entering the work zones.
