Lane Restrictions Scheduled on I-76 and Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) in
Philadelphia for Bridge Inspections

Lane restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 76 and Route 291 (Penrose
Avenue)
in Philadelphia, for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.

Weather permitting, the bridge inspection schedule is:

• Tuesday, May 3, through Thursday, May 5, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, lane
restrictions are scheduled on westbound I-76 between Girard Avenue (Exit
342)
and Montgomery Drive (Exit 341);
• Tuesday, May 3, through Thursday, May 5, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, lane
restrictions are scheduled on eastbound I-76 between Montgomery Drive (Exit

341) and Spring Garden Street (Exit 343); and
• Saturday, May 7, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to
close on eastbound Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) between Bartram Avenue and
26th
Street.

Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel where the
inspections
are taking place.

The bridge inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect state
bridges
at least once every two years. The inspection ensures the safety and
overall
condition of the structure.

traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.
