Ardmore Avenue Lane Restrictions Scheduled for Bridge Replacement Project in Delaware County
King of Prussia, PA – Ardmore Avenue motorists will encounter weekday lane restrictions with flagging between Golfview Road and Haverford Road in Haverford Township, Delaware County, on Monday, April 8, through late May, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for PECO utility line relocation work under a Highway Occupancy Permit, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. This required utility work is part of a PennDOT project to replace two bridges that carry Ardmore Avenue over Cobbs Creek and SEPTA's Norristown High-Speed Line.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.
After required aerial utility line relocation work has been completed, Ardmore Avenue will be closed for construction between Darby Road and Haverford Road. During the closure, Ardmore Avenue motorists will be detoured over Haverford Road, College Avenue and Darby Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.
J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, Chester County is the general contractor on the $9,837,500 bridge replacement project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds Construction on this project is expected to finish in the spring of 2020.
